Hi everyone, please know only as a last resort have we come here today.
Marie is a 5 year breast cancer survivor, back in March 2020 she received the news again, that she was diagnosed with T3 cancer. This time in her nasal cavity, a rare aggressive cancer. Due to the covid pandemic, the surgery was pushed off until May 5th. During this time this aggressive cancer had spread into the bone and into her tear duct causing an extremely painful wait.
After the surgery, she was home recovering when she woke up with her eye swollen shut. She had contracted cellulitis, after a few days in the hospital on very strong antibiotics she beat the infection.
Due to the severity of the cancer she is going to need 6 weeks of chemo and radiation simultaneously.
The entire time she has been in good spirits.
While preparing to start the radiation treatments on her face, she was told to see an oral surgeon, since this type of radiation can cause the jaw bone to die. It was at this visit that everything turned south.
Marie has no dental insurance and was informed that due to the condition of her teeth they all need to be removed (they believe a lot of this has to do with the previous radiation she received.)
To be able to move forward with treatment for the cancer we need to cone up with $20,000 for dental work.
We are exploring all options, reaching out to agencies and fighting with her medical insurance for them to cover this since it is all part of her cancer treatment with no luck so far.
Due to the Covid virus we know money is tight for everyone but if you would be so kind to donate we would forever be grateful.
Of course during the next 8 weeks of treatments we will face lots of battles but eliminating some of the financial stress during this time would make it just a little bit easier.
