Marie F. Jean's Celebration of Life

Donation protected
It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved mother, Marie Fanise Gabriel Jean. She was a hardworking, God fearing, loving and caring mother, wife, sister and friend. She was born in Haiti on June 15, 1952. When she lost her parents at a very young age, she became a provider for all of her siblings. She nurtured and raised them and did all she could to provide for her family. This was the essence of her being. She left Haiti as young woman in pursuit of a new life in the United States. Here in Boston, she met her husband and gave birth to her three daughters.  Since then she worked tirelessly and relentlessly to ensure that her three children were healthy, happy, and given every opportunity to pursue their education and become successful. Most importantly, she planted in us the roots of our ever growing faith and love for Jesus Christ; a love that has strengthened and sustained us through every obstacle that we have encountered as a family.

On December 7, 2016 our mother suffered from her first cardiac arrest due to complications with her heart and kidney failure. This was the beginning of long and difficult fight. But, Marie had already claimed her victory in the name of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Even in her darkest hour, she declared that her life would be a testament to God's unfailing love, grace, and mercy. She spent several months in intensive care where her health continued to decline. She experienced multiple, severe complications including several more instances where her heart stopped and she had to be resuscitated. Every time she regained consciousness, it was with the abundance of praise on her lips. This left her doctors, nurses, friends and family members in shock and disbelief at how strong and amazing her faith was.  She was in constant pain and suffering but never once complained. Even though the doctors numbered her days, she was determined to show them that her fate lied not in the hands of man, but in the hands of her Creator.

After several months in and out of the hospital, she was transferred to hospice care where she would spend her last days at home being cared for and comforted by her family and loved ones. Even in her pain and suffering, she remained in constant joy and high spirits. Every day she sang a new song, and her faith never wavered. On June 15, despite her doctor's prognosis she celebrated her 65th birthday. Shortly after, her declination in health began to increase more aggressively. And on Friday, July 14, she peacefully and gracefully took her last breath surrounded by her her children and husband.

Although her homegoing was long anticipated, this still came as a shock and struck her family and loved ones with a great deal of pain. Even in our deepest sorrow, we will celebrate and cherish the strong, fearless, beautiful and kind soul she was. Since her passing, we have received an overwhelming amount of love and support. We are thankful that God has blessed us with each and every one of you. With that, we would like to reach out to our friends and family to ask for your continued  prayers and support as we prepare for her funeral and burial arrangements. Every contribution that you can give, so that we can make her homegoing a reflection of her beautiful life, will be greatly appreciated. The time, date and location for the memorial, funeral and berial services are to be determinied,  We thank you in advance.

May peace, love and blessings be with

you all.
