Mariah's Miracle

Donation protected
Mariah is an amazing 26 year old wife, friend, and pediatric physical therapist who became a new mother on January 19, 2020. At a time new mothers should spend bonding, nursing, and taking care of their infant, Mariah is fighting for her life and more time. To all the prayer warriors, we beg for you to have her, and her family, in your daily prayers. Here is her story:

On Jan 13, 2020, at 36 weeks pregnant, Mariah felt a lump on her breast and went to the doctor who subsequently sent her for a biopsy.

On Jan 16, 2020 in the morning, the results of the biopsy confirmed that the mass was malignant.

On Jan 19, 2020, very early in the morning , Mariah delivered a very healthy baby girl, Clara - 5 pounds, 2 ounces, 18.5 inches.  They were discharged together 24 hours later.  Clara is perfect in every way!

On Friday Jan 24, 2020, Mariah went into the ER with a high fever, vomiting and in excruciating pain.  She was admitted into the hospital with a high fever and an infection.

Over the course of the next seven days, Doctors have ordered a battery of tests and scans that have revealed the scariest of news. Mariah has an extremely aggressive form of cancer that has spread to her liver, ovaries, rib cage, spine, and brain called bilateral triple negative breast cancer.

On Friday, January 31, Mariah was admitted into a cancer treatment facility to begin radiation and chemotherapy.

Mariah knows she has a very long road ahead of her, but she has so much to fight for.  She is one of the strongest human beings we know who has been a "giver" her entire life. It is time now for people to return the love. While her main need right now is prayer, she will have significant financial and material needs in the near future.

With a newborn at home and Mariah undergoing cancer treatment, the support needed will be vast.  Brian, her extremely supportive husband, along with her parents, in-laws, siblings and friends need to work. While Brian was not planning to take extended paternity leave, he will need to remain off work to care for Mariah. Additionally, they will need care for Clara, because Clara cannot attend daycare. If Clara gets sick at daycare, Mariah gets sick, because her immune system is so weak.

AzOPT & Kids Place will match all donations up to $50,000.  One thing Mariah should not have to worry about as she fights is money.  All of our AzOPT & Kids Place locations are also donation sites for checks, gift cards, words of encouragement, pictures, drawings, etc.

Ideas of gift cards:  Amazon for diapers and formula, gas cards to get to and from all of the doctors visits, restaurant/grocery gift cards to assist with food.  Anything that will lessen their financial burden.

Thank you for contributing to Mariah's Miracle.
