Maria, The Cost of Cancer #southafricansister

My dear friend Maria Christodoulou-Philippou, a devoted wife, loving daughter and sister was diagnosed in October 2018 with breast cancer and has been battling this horrific disease on all fronts.

Maria and her husband Ioakim, immigrated from South Africa to South Florida 4 years ago. They were excited about the prospect of creating their American dream, opening up their Greek restaurant a year later. 

Since diagnosis Maria has undergone a double mastectomy, 3 surgeries due to infection and is still undergoing chemotherapy with 25 radiation treatments to follow at the Florida Cancer Institute.

This family is struggling with medical bills mounting up. Currently with no health insurance and with Maria unable to help in the restaurant or pursue her career as a Realtor, her dear parents Thomas and Anastasia together with Kim are left to handle the financial burden and run the restaurant.  This awful disease, this cancer, has been a devastating blow to this wonderful, warm and hardworking family trying to make it in the States.

The funds you donate to this cause will pay off the $10,000 of medical bills already accumulated, allow Maria to undergo and complete all her treatments and more importantly let Maria go through this with peace of mind.  She deserves this.
