I grew up in Point Michel and the elementary school that I attended, my parents and siblings also attended, was completely devastated by Hurricane Maria.
The most urgent need at this time is to repair the roof of the school. It is essential that the children return to normalcy as soon as possible. It will be years before Dominica recovers from this devastation. The sooner we repair the roof, the more reassuring for the children that they will recover. With 4 classmates killed by the hurricane, life will never be the same, but repairing the roof will go a long way towards lessening their trauma.
It has been over a month since the hurricane struck Dominica and destroyed Point Michel and the children have no place to go. We need this to change as quickly as possible.
The School Principal says $10,000 will repair the roof and help renovate other parts of the school.
Your donation towards will be greatly appreciated and go directly to the Point Michel School.
