Margaret Mary Boulanger

Margaret was a lifelong educator with a joyous, radiant spirit in the Northwest Territories who lived her life according to her personal manifesto: "Best Life Ever." Her sons Félix and Eugène brought their family and community together to honour their late mother and lay her to rest last week in Somba K’e [Yellowknife], NT.

The family is accepting contributions from friends and family who are able to help support the many costs associated with hosting a reception and preparing an estate. Donations will support additional funeral costs, producing a public reception at the NWT Legislature building, and family travel to be in Somba K’e.

Contributions will be provided to Margaret's children to cover these costs and support them to attend to all of their needs at this moment. We are grateful for the support of the Tulít’a Land Corporation, yet additional funds for basic costs not covered are still needed. Her son Eugène traveled up from Vancouver missing work, and their family travelled from the South Slave region, and Tulít’a and Deliné in the Sahtú region to be with the boys.

Margaret lifted our spirits, made us laugh, and challenged us to consider our challenges with hope and grace. May we all carry these gifts with gratitude and a commitment to continue her spirit's work. Let us help take care of her family in their time of loss - just one way to show our gratitude to Margaret.
