Marco Saldana Brain Cancer Expenses

On Friday, January 19 I took Marco to the ER. He had sudden memory loss, couldn’t understand simple concepts and over all just wasn’t himself anymore. They did many tests on him including a CT Scan. This test revealed something we were not prepared for, Marco had a 2 1/2 inch brain tumor. The following day Marco went into immediate brain surgery to remove this tumor. Fortunately, Marco was able to move and speak properly immediately after surgery. Praise the Lord. We waited patiently for two weeks before our appointment with the neurosurgeon on February 6. Unfortunately, we did not get the outcome we were hoping for. Marco was diagnosed with brain cancer. The initial diagnosis was anaplastic astrocytoma (grade 3) but after visiting MD Anderson the diagnosis was changed to glioblastoma (grade 4). He completed 6 weeks of chemo and proton radiation at MD Anderson in Houston, Tx. He will continue chemo he in McAllen for the next year or two. He is also recieving Optune treatment which is a device that he wears on his head that stops the reproduction cycle of the cancer cells. UPDATE: 7/30/18 The last week has been really difficult for our entire family. Last Friday we got news that our boys will be moving to Austin with their mom. That was tough news to receive especially during this time. We are so used to spending a lot of time with them. And now that Marco is no longer allowed to drive, it makes things difficult for us but i know that God is with us and that all things work together for the good of those who love him. Then on Wednesday we had a doctor's appointment where we recieved news that it appears that the tumor is growing back. Today we had another appointment with the neurosurgeon and he confirmed that there is in fact regrowth and that it is inoperable. He is referring us back to MD Anderson to see what options we have and what comes next. They will be doing a PET scan before we go back to MD Anderson so right now we're waiting on insurance authorization. We know that God is with us and will guide us in the right direction. We know that nothing is impossible for our God and we trust him even through the pain and confusion. Please pray for strength and peace for our family. Pray against anxiety and depression for us. Stand in the gap for us! Marco is unable to drive or work right now so any donation is greatly appreciated. God bless you! It's been almost 2 years since we started this journey. It's been a rollercoaster ride. On Friday, December 6th, 2019 we got results from Marco's most recent MRI. Unfortunately it wasn't what we were hoping to hear. The cancer has spread to other parts of the brain. Nothing has really worked up to this point so the neuro-oncoligist is recommending one last option. It requires a small surgery in Austin and he would have treatment twice a week in Austin. He feels good right now so it's been difficult to accept this news. It doesn't make sense to us. We trust that God will continue to lead us in the right direction and that everything lines up.
