Help Marc Fight Cancer

Hi...I'm Wendy Beggs...a good friend of the Gartenfeld's.
In April this year Marc Gartenfeld was diagnosed with stage 3 Multiple Myeloma, a rare Blood and Bone Cancer. Marc was experiencing terrible pain with fractures in his ribs and spine. What he wasn't aware of is that the cancer was eating away at his bones. This is what this terrible cancer does. It eats up all the healthy stem cells and when it's done with those, it goes on to eating holes in the bones. There is no cure for Marc's cancer and the damage it has already incurred will never be reversed.
On Thursday he will be undergoing one of 3 Autologous Stem Cell Transplants. That means they will use his own stem cells to buy him time. The first one will give him 4 to 6 years of partial remission, and with each transplant, remission time will be less.
Getting a terminal cancer diagnosis is life altering, and yet Marc's faith in God is unwavering; he is still smiling and hopeful for the future. He has 3 young boys that he loves and worries about more than anything. He wants to live for them.
Marc has been undergoing costly weekly treatments to prepare him for the transplant, and after the transplant he will be left without a functioning immune system for the next 3 months, at least. He will not be able to resume a normal life for those 3 months. He will be homebound and will miss work and pay until doctors say he is well enough to go back.
And Marc has no Family Medical Leave or Disability through his job because his company is too small and isn't eligible for any. Therefore, he will struggle to care for his family during that time. His wife, Darla, will care for him at home and will also miss time from work with no pay. Insurance refuses to help this family with any of this.
This is where we come in. Between the medical bills and living expenses without pay, the Gartenfeld's will need our help to care for their 3 young children.
Their friends, family, and colleagues are coming together to be supportive of them. I'm coming to each of you to ask you to help Marc and his family by asking for a donation. With these donations, we hope to ease the financial strain this illness is bringing to Marc and his family, so that he will be able to focus on fighting through his upcoming rough days. We would like to help Marc focus on his recovery without having to worry about providing for his wife Darla, and his three boys Justin, Ethan, and Callen.
It is never easy to ask for help, but we know Marc still has a long, difficult road ahead as there is no known cure for Mutiple Myeloma as of yet. Any donation in any amount will help with medical bills and with the expenses that will occur during the course of events in his near future. Any donation, even any message of support would be greatly appreciated.
