Marakissa village Antenatal emergency ambulance
Donation protected
Marakissa village is geographically located in the west coast region of the Gambia.
The people of Marakissa are suffering a lot today with Health problems issues even though with a well built Health Centre at their disposal, yet it is not functional and in actively running without any Nurses, medical facilities and other essential equipment. Above all many emergencies did happen were many lives were lost that could have been prevented due to a lack of an AMBULANCE and good health services. Had an AMBULANCE been available, our sick and ill health people could have been transferred to the immediate hospitals available for their treatments and diagnosis. Most of these victims were women, particularly (pregnant woman), the elderly and children. In fact in most cases, results in mother's death are common since delivery is done in a poorly equipped health centre where diagnosis are carried out mostly at the beginning of labour. Health problems of malaria and other illnesses are exposed especially during the rainy season with limited transport system available for any emergency. With the limited financial resources and the precarious means of transportation and the absence of an AMBULANCE for emergency transferal system, our community is suffering immensely for many years now.
However, with the help of an AMBULANCE service will help reduce and aliviate the health condition of our community and its surrounding. Please join us Marakissa Diaspora Association or donate us on GO GOFUNDME for the community of Marakissa Village.
The Clinic was one of the most effective and supportive Health centre available within the region at some point where many communities around benefited and improved their lives. It is a shame this is no longer the same today with good structures without any reliable health facilities for the communities.
