Mara, a beloved young lady by friends, family and others has been facing cancer head on since 2014. At 18 years old she was diagnosed Synovial Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer that occurs primarily in the extremities of the arms or legs. It started in her wrist which she then had surgery to remove the tumor. The cancer returned 2015 and Mara had her second surgery removing her pinky, ring finger and the palm beneath. Afterwards, she remained positive. Worked part-time, did well in college, kept herself going having only the common worries of a college girl. Half-way into 2017 a check-up brings to Mara's attention her SS has breached her bloodstream. To this very day she has now had a third surgery, removing half her forearm, moved to Houston, TX where the MD Anderson Cancer Center provides the best care in the nation. She's going through her fourth round of chemo therapy with talk of further surgery and to likely need radiation. Moreover, I know I speak for many when I say she is loved, brilliant and a blissful soul. The least all of us could do is help with her financial burdens for all the days she spent with us helping through our burdens and giving us an abundance of great times.
