Developing Emergency Covid 19 Face 'Hero' Shields

Don protégé
Irish emergency workers are keeping us alive during this Covid 19 Corona Virus Outbreak. They can only do that if they stay healthy. They need proper protective equipment.

Face masks are essential, but must be used with a full face visor (Face Shield).

There are not enough face masks and face shields, and workers are getting sick. Sick workers cannot save lives, and it puts their families at risk.

This is an all-Ireland initiative. We are raising funds to start production of Full Face Visors for our Emergency workers in Ireland. To be called Hero Shields they will be issued FREE OF CHARGE.

This is a non-profit activity. All monies raised will be used to purchase materials to make the Face Shields, which will be donated to the HSE, Irish Hospice Foundation, Ambulance workers and other frontline staff.

Features of the design:

Designed to be manufactured and assembled really quickly, the headband is injection moulded PP, which is soft and flexible.

The headband includes a one-piece adjustable strap, making it easy to adjust and no assembly required and the opening at the top is closed off to reduce particle ingress from above.

The visor is cut from sheet, and simply clipped onto the headband in seconds.

The optional foam forehead pad is added for additional user comfort.

With the amazing network of companies stepping up to help, by the end of nest week, we will have capability to product up to 30,000 Face Shields per week.

High speed services such as the HSE can take the Hero Shield fully assembled, and low speed services can take kits for self-assembly.

The Hero Shield can be single-use and incinerated, or it can be sterilised using a number of proven methods, for re-use.
