Man's Best Friend the film!

We [Lizzie and Grace] first met during side-hustle jobs in 2015 where we connected instantly. In 2019 we wanted to explore what our relationship could look like as artistic collaborators, and began conceptualizing and then writing a few film projects together. Finally, after having the best time on set together for a film project written and produced by friends of ours in the spring of 2022, we decided to take our filmmaking endeavors to the next level and go forth with a production entirely of our own.

We feel extremely passionate about paying artists for their work, so that's where the majority of the funds raised will be allocated. Every cast + crew member we're bringing on board is a professional in their field, so we feel strongly that they must be compensated accordingly per the scale of the production. Other than that, the funds will be used to cover some necessary equipment rental expenses + ensure everyone is fed in line with standard union rules on set. One of the lead actors is also a dog and she will be provided her own craft services in the form of treats and some enrichment toys for long days on set.

A bit about our film: MAN'S BEST FRIEND explores the complex and sometimes even messy dynamics that can arise between two friends of the opposite sex. There's an unspoken rule that certain feelings can only be reserved for romantic relationships, and this film challenges that notion. It deals with real, human emotions that we aren't always proud of, while also highlighting the potential consequences and personal responsibilities that come with expressing sensitive feelings to those affecting you. Through the lens of a self-aware, comedy with an absurdist twist, we intend to tell this story in a way that is fully unique and distinctly ours.
