Manny is an immigrant who migrated from Angola to the United states. He got married and started a family in the United states. Manny started battling cancer in 2015 having multiple surgeries and radiation therapies to try to beat the cancer. It worked for a while.
Unfortunately, in 2017 Manny was diagnosed of a rare sarcoma cancer specifically named peripheral nerve shealth tumor. This cancer was in his spine. Manny had surgery and immediately began radiation therapy. A few months later as he is recovering at home he starts feeling unbearable pain in different places other than his back. Cat scans and Pet scans were taken to get a look of his entire body to find out what the problem was. Manny found out the cancer was still in his spine and it had spread to multiple parts of his body. This time no cure and no real solution. He was given a short time to live. The family spent days crying and were very overwhelmed. A young 35 year old man who came to the US to build a better life for himself, just got married and had a new baby could be losing his life. They didnt know what to do. Until one day his friend/minister came to visit, heard what happened and said "you don't have cancer and your not going to die" From that day Manny felt his spirit move and turned to GOD. Manny is now receiving alternative therapies and he has weekly therapies that he has to pay for out of pocket. He needs a total of $7,500 for his therapies. His wife has quit her job to take care of him and their son. They are now surviving with whatever they have left in their savings accounts and help from friends and family. They are turning to their community for blessings in anything possible to continue to get them by because life never stops.
