M&J Tavern, A Historic Legacy and Cornerstone.

Times are changing in this once small town, including who owns the local business scene.  With a large boost in population we have seen many properties and businesses bought out by big money and changed to accommodate an idea of what these new owners want Bend to be.  Here is an opportunity to be a part of securing one of Bends major cornerstones in a historic legacy slowly being swept under in a 'new' is better mindset. The Tavern will be sold. That is fact. With the help from each of you that contribute to this cause, we can keep the M&J Tavern locally owned and community supported. The tavern has been traced back to 1946 at its address now. An integral part of logging/railroad/armed forces since its begining. From cashing checks, getting laundry done, selling 6packs of beer and sandwiches every person who ever considered themselves a local has been a patron to this establishment or known someone who was. Becoming a main stage for local music the M&J Tavern has managed to hold on to the family atmosphere and has been coined "the downtown livingroom". The goal is to raise as much money as possible to help myself, C.J., and my right hand man at the Tavern, Mike, procure the spot for generations to come and guaranteeing this small piece of true Bend gets purchased by those who want to keep the legacy going.  Working at the Tavern is like having one big family. It just makes sense to own it. Make sure things remain the same! The goal is way bigger! However, anything is a start and a huge jump to the possibility of securing history!
