Cherished patrons, friends and family of MAMO,
It is with a heavy heart that I reach out to everyone during these trying times. MAMO, like many restaurants across our nation has been asked to close their doors in an effort to keep the spreading of COVID-19 contained. Our customer's, employee's and city's health is the most important concern above all else during a crisis of this magnitude.
An unfortunate consequence of closing our doors means that our extended family (our outstanding staff) has been forced out of their jobs and main source of income. Informing our employees that they will have to apply for unemployment and take a drastic pay cuts as a result has been devastating. Our hardworking employees depend on steady income to provide food, shelter and security for their families.
The immediate future of the restaurant industry in New York City is agonizingly uncertain. I am asking for any form of charity that you might be able to spare during these unprecedented times. We have organized a gofundme page in order to help ease the financial burden that our family at MAMO is going to endure for the foreseeable future.
