Mamayeya’s Recovery

On November 26, Mamayeya went to the hospital for a dermatologist procedure. They gave her lidocaine (an anesthetic) to proceed with the procedure. Not long after we went through one of the most terrifying things anyone could imagine. Mamayeya felt like she couldn’t breathe and urged my grandfather to seek help. Due to a reaction to the lidocaine she had two cardiac arrests and was in an induced coma for the next few days. More than a week later she is making a steady recovery but because of her lack of medical insurance the finance burden weighs heavy with her. El 26 de noviembre, Mamayeya fue al hospital para un procedimiento dermatológico. Le dieron lidocaína (un anestésico) para continuar con el procedimiento. No mucho después, pasamos por una de las cosas más terroríficas que alguien pueda imaginar. Mamayeya sintió que no podía respirar e instó a mi abuelo a buscar ayuda. Debido a una reacción a la lidocaína, tuvo dos paros cardíacos y estuvo en coma inducido durante los siguientes días. Más de una semana después, se está recuperando poco a poco, pero debido a su falta de seguro médico, la carga financiera pesa mucho sobre ella.
