Malesa Zaman & Family Funeral Fund
AUGUST 1, 2019 UPDATE:
*Funeral arrangements have been made and due to some recent changes regarding burial, we no longer need additional funds for arrangements in Bangladesh. As our goal has now changed from $30,000 to $20,000, we have officially raised enough to cover all costs for services in Toronto.
On July 27th, 2019 my best friend Malesa Zaman, and her family members, Moniruz (father), Momotaz (mother) and her grandmother Firoza were all victims of a tragic homicide which took place in their home located in Markham, Ontario. All 4 victims were pronounced deceased at the scene upon emergency services' arrival.
I've known Malesa for over 12 years. We first met in the third grade and I've grown with her ever since. She's been my go-to for as long as I can remember... She had the sweetest heart and was always willing to listen and care for everyone she knew. I'm deeply broken over this situation and want nothing more than to do everything I can to help assist her relatives.
The purpose of this campaign is to raise money to assist with funeral arrangements. All funds collected will be paid to the relatives of the Zaman family to aid them in arranging a funeral here, as well as in their home country of Bangladesh. Any extra or additional funds will be generously donated.
For any concerns regarding the fundraising of these costs, be assured I am in contact with the lead investigator of this case. He is aware of the funds being collected and once he makes it clear to me who in their family will be arranging the funeral, I will be transferring all of the funds over to them. I will not be keeping any of this money for myself.
