Malawi Medical Mission Trip!!

Hi Everyone!!
This quarter I have been given the opportunity to a pat of a medical outreach program to Malawi, Africa!! I am extremely grateful to have this opportunity through the Occupational Therapy program at Midwestern University.
This trip will occur May 23, 2020 - June 8, 2020. Myself as well as other classmates and faculty will be traveling to Malawi for two weeks working with the passion center for children.
As occupational therapy students, our goal for this trip is to provide resources, education, and support the individuals of the country. We will be collaborating about treatment interventions, adaptations, and implementing ideas to help these individuals engage in their meaningful activities of self-care in a safe way.
This trip will allow us to advocate for occupational therapy through increase the quality of life for the people of Malawi that we will meet and work with.
This trip is an experience that is once in a lifetime and I am seeking help with the expenses that come with the trip since it is the responsibility of the students to pay their way. Any donation will help to offset some of the larger costs and I will be truly grateful.
I am very passionate about the pediatrics population and this trip will expose to me to treating babies to young children. This trip will challenge me to leave my comfort zone and practice my skill set I have developed so far in a hands-on experience. It also will allow me the opportunity to be immersed into a new culture which will benefit me as a future occupational therapist.
Thank you to everyone in advance for the support, encouragement, and love on this mission trip. I am entirely grateful to have been given this opportunity to spread the reach of occupational therapy while also learning from another culture.
