Malaki's Hospitalization

Donation protected
On November 5th, 2020 our world turned upside down. On November 4th we learned our Mother was sick with COVID-19 and by November 5th she passed away. When we arrived to the hospital to say goodbye, we were informed the boys could not go say goodbye; they weren't even allowed to see her from the window due to COVID rules. Malaki, like all the boys, were very close to Grandma. He broke in grief and went to the car to "listen to music." When he came back into the hospital, a code was called because our son was in a rage due to psychosis... aka a mental break and we suspect he took "something" to self medicate- possibly synthetic marijuana which caused a substance induced psychosis. Our son became schizophrenic in an instant.  He was rushed to the emergency room while his Dad was in the ICU watching his mother slip away. When she passed away I was faced with telling my grieving husband our son was in the Emergency Room. What we have endured since has been unspeakable. He has been in the hospital for 28 days. Sadly due to other odd circumstances we were in between insurance and so Malaki was not insured. The 3000$ daily bills have added up and although we will receive an uninsured discount we are already at $44,000 with the discount. Malaki is being transferred to the state hospital on Medicaid until he pulls through, but the Medicaid will not be applied to the $44,000.

We need help. We are being asked to help with other expenses, like Mom's mortgage and we haven't even had the ability to do a memorial service in her honor yet. Anything would help. Please share this. We are trying to focus on healing our son, but the weight of the new debt we have is weighing on us greatly.

We need the funds sooner than later as the bills are already poring in; please please share. It makes me feel like I am at least trying to help my family when so far feeling helpless has been the hard reality. I don't do well with hopelessness because with God all things are possible. We are trusting that we will be ok no matter what. We are trusting God to open doors and restore our finances. This is one avenue to which I have been led to act.

"Hope without action- is just a wish, a want. Hope with action is a force." I am trying to take action and do something that might help our situation.

If you cant give please pray for our boy to heal quickly and for our financial situation to be restored.
