Nick & Jamie 30k Surf Spot Walk for Alex Wood
Alex sustained a very serious Head Injury playing Rugby in France in October 2011. After 2 Life Saving Brain Operations to stop the Internal Bleeding, Alex fell into a Deep Coma for 10 long weeks. When he was stable enough, he was airlifted back to the UK to continue his rehabilitation.
As a result Alex has a multitude of new challenges in front of him. He is now Blind, Epileptic, requires 24hr Care & has severely reduced Speech & Movement. Things that most people take for granted like eating, speaking & walking are now very difficult for Alex.
To help raise money for Alex, we (Nick & Jamie) are going to walk 30km along all the Surf Spots that we used to surf with Alex in France, from Biarritz Grande Plage to Hendaye Plage. Everyone is welcome to join us for part or all of the walk.
Alex has 4 young children, a wife, parents, brother, sister & loads more family & friends who are doing whatever they can to improve Alex's quality of life.
If you ever met Alex, you will never forget his energy, he is larger than life and he needs your help right now. Even if you don't know Alex, please donate if you can. If you can't donate, please share this page on Facebook & Twitter.
Donations are made into our work paypal account, then transferred to Alex's family. If you want to donate by bank transfer or cheque, please contact us by e-mail [email redacted].uk
Thanks for your help, Nick & Jamie.
