Making space for Black and Brown authors!

Hello!

Here at DYB (Decolonize Your Bookshelf) Publishing, we believe that literature has the power to change the world. Which makes it all the more nefarious that the industry has fought so hard to keep Black and Brown voices out. We aim to do our part to fix that. Simultaneously by amplifying the voices of Black and Brown authors, challenging the systemic structures that keep us out of the industry, and by publishing as many Black and Brown titles that we can.

DYB exists because the major companies that have monopolized this industry are not fighting for the voices of marginalized people. It is time to stop waiting for them to.

This fundraiser exists to help us accumulate the resources that we need in order to launch Black and Brown projects with enough momentum to ensure they get a wide reach and get into the hands of readers.

We are already working on several projects and are asking for your help so that we can resource as many Black and Brown authors as possible. Which includes hiring editors, graphic designers and publicists to work on these projects alongside us.
