I am pulling together my next exhibition, Enchantment. I am seeking backers to assist.
This exhibition is different from the previous two. Colonial Melbourne, its famous people, buildings, and architects, and the influence of the occult are represented in my style and in a new way.
I am trying to reach my goal as early in 2024 as possible: this will allow me the time to finalize the paintings, book the venue in advance, and mobilize the other people contributing to the event. It also coordinates with government funding rounds.
Funding for the project means I can focus all of my efforts on painting the pieces - 10 new works - and buying the materials to do so.
Having a more prominent exhibition than I have been able to afford to stage before is an important step this time, and having a curator to help manage this is part of the strategy.
Backers receive:
- The entire amount you pledge against the value of a painting of your choice now, at the exhibition, or in the future, with no expiry date; this means that you can buy a painting (or 2!) with THIS pledge
- VIP invite opening before official opening night of exhibition in Melbourne (this will allow you first pick of the new works)
- For non-Melbourne backers an exclusive live stream of the pre-opening not shared on social media
- Updates not included in The Parlour (my occasional newsletter)
- For pledges AUD$1000- or more a book containing all the exhibition paintings, a transcript and complete research notes for A Monumental Egyptian Tomb In Melbourne, as well as the stories behind the paintings, a transcript of Encounter In Ramthong Lane audio, and more
