ROUND TWO:
Hi I'm , Kate Vorias - a school teacher and compassionate person, living in Newcastle and thankfully unaffected by the floods. However, like many, I was devastated to see an entire town be swept away by floodwaters, from newborn babies to the very aged and frail, as well as beloved family pets and farm animals. There was no judgement on who was affected; it was the entire community.
Since the 11th of March , we have helped 30 families with non- perishables and some fresh food from the local farmers markets, fresh water, diesel, portable gas burners , doonas and pillows and some clothes.
ROUND TWO is all about providing ways to rebuild their life. We are reaching out for white goods as well as other household items. So far we have 3 fridges, 1 washing machine, 3 single beds, 1 king single and 1 queen, 2 lounges and one table with chairs. We are trying to help 10 families this trip. We also ask for warmer clothes from size 2 - 22 now that it is getting colder. Blankets and doonas, microwaves, jugs, toasters, kitchen utensils will also be very welcomed.
