Makeda-Lily Love-Roney's Hip Surgeries & Recovery

Makeda is facing the challenges of hip dysplasia, a condition where the hip socket does not fully cover the ball portion of the femur bone, resulting in partial or complete dislocation of the hip joint, damages to the cartilage lining the joint (which she already had surgery for in 2019), and impact of the overall function of her hip, including degeneration of the bones and socket over time.

Over these next two years, Makeda will undergo four separate surgeries to address this condition. Each surgery will require a period of incapacitation for recovery, preventing her from working (as well as doing the many things we do on a daily/weekly/monthly basis to keep up with all our “life-ing” engagements) during this time of immense healing, body, mind and soul.
