Make Raven's wish come true....

Hello all,

My name is Jessica and I’d like to introduce the world to my cousin Raven. This may sound cliché-ish, but to know her is to love her. Beautiful, big hair, goofy, smart, and soft-spoken are just a few terms to describe Raven. She is a natural nurturer, working as a beloved childcare worker for several years and she is also a gifted artist.

This urgent appeal is for a reason I thought I’d never have to write about. For the past three years, Raven has battled cancer in several forms. First of which being diagnosed at the young age of 21 with ovarian cancer. To summarize the last few years, Raven has beat cancer twice in this time but unfortunately, the disease has come back full force. This time pulling no punches and attacking her liver, spine, and abdomen.

During her most recent stint in the hospital due to an infection, Raven’s Oncology team has informed her that current rounds of chemotherapy/radiation are no longer working, and she is terminal.

After this news, Raven made a very hard and brave decision to stop all aggressive treatments and finally give her young body the rest it needs. She has decided to allow Hospice to take over her care. A few days later, when sharing this news with the rest of the family, Raven mentioned that her decision was made because she would rather have a ‘few good weeks than to have a year on treatments that are only prolonging the inevitable’ since the treatments were making her very sick most days. Whew! The bravery of this woman is amazing.

This fundraiser is important to me because for one I think Raven is an absolute precious soul. It is a sentiment shared by all in our family. We want her to have the best of the best in her final days and we are asking for your help.

The funds will be used to help make a few of Raven’s wishes come true. She has expressed that she wants to spend time with her fiancé, family and friends creating lasting memories which include seeing The Lion King LIVE and going to see the ocean one more time.
