Make Mars Great Again

Donation protected
On Friday, January 19th 2018, we headed up to Duluth with our 12 week old puppy, Mars, for my partner Steve's 30th birthday.
A good friend of ours met us up there, with his 8 year old dog. We introduced the dogs slowly and they were getting along just fine. The 8 year old dog has no history of agression and has been around smaller dogs before with no incident. We were together for 2 hours, monitoring the dogs, and they were doing great. Around 10PM we were out in the backyard and decided to head in. When our puppy walked past the bigger dog, out of nowhere he lashed out and bit the right side of her face. The bigger dog's owner said the big dog's tail was wagging right up to the dog bite, and that it came out of nowhere. Our puppy just was walking past him. We rushed to the emergency ER and spent the night there with Mars. They told us her jaw was broken, and she had multiple broken teeth. Not just the baby teeth, but the adult as well.

We spent all day yesterday, Tuesday January 23rd,  in the specialist hospital with her. She was in surgery all afternoon. Both her bottom and top jaw on the right side are severly fractured. On her bottom jaw they had to do multiple tooth extractions for her adult teeth. On her top jaw the fracture went from her eye to her nose, so they ended up taking out a large part of her cheekbone. There is a small chance that the bone will grow back, otherwise she will have a little droopy right eye. As you can imgagine, the vet costs are pretty extreme.

We are asking for help with the bills, as they are out of our price range. Any help would be much appreciated. If you can't donate and are in the Twin Cities area, you can always come over and love up on her as well. She needs a lot of love right now! Thank you so much for your time, and for your donation. We attached photos so you can see photos of the pieces of her jaw they took out, and some pre and post injury photos. She is doing well and taking down pureed food and water! Cost break down is:

Initial ER visits: $1,022
Surgery at Blue Pearl: $3, 352
Post OP check ups: $340

Anything you can give would really help! <3 Thank you!
