How I ended up losing the ability to walk in 2 weeks :,) -MY STORY

For months I had been feeling suicidal. I put on such a brave face, but eventually my depression consumed me. I refused to get out of bed, eat, shower, or even go to the bathroom. Walker had to quit his job to be here with Kai (our toddler) while I was at such a low point in my life. Long story short, I knew I needed to get help or I would not be here right now. I missed one of my bests friend's weddings because my mental health was so low.

The night of the wedding (Oct.7) , I checked myself into an inpatient psychiatric hospital. I was diagnosed with:
•Bipolar ll disorder

•Major Depressive Disorder

•Generalized anxiety

•and Postpartum depression

It had explained so much and I was able to get the resources I needed to feel better. However, life still carries on.

We were under so much financial stress, as well as me still trying to recover from this experience, that it manifested its way physically.
During my low point, I didn’t even have the willpower to go to the restroom. Because of this I got severe kidney pains.

On Oct 20th I woke up w severe fever chills, aching pains, and dizziness. I started bleeding, throwing up, and passing out. Rushing me to the ER (and after a CT scan) they found out that I had a pretty severe kidney infection (Pyelonephritis) that had traveled into my bloodstream and caused me to go into sepsis. I was terrified but just tried to stay positive.

‍After 5 days I still wasn’t able to walk. They did multiple MRIs and a spinal cord puncture to find out that I have Transverse Myelitis. (A rare disease that causes inflammation around the spinal cord)
1-8 people are diagnosed w this every year out of a MILLION. (It still blows my mind)

After about 2 weeks of being hospitalized, I finally got cleared to go home with an at home physical therapist (that we’re still trying to get ahold of )
I still can’t walk, and my home is not equipped for a major disability, but we’re trying to make due.

I’m telling my story bc we are a little desperate at this point. Between medical bills, childcare bills, and no income as of right now we are in major debt and need help. I feel bad asking for money but I’m hoping when I get better I’m able to give back somehow

Anything helps and if you can’t donate that’s okay!! Please like and share to hopefully reach more people.

Moral of the story, please don’t take life for granted. One day I was playing tag with my baby in the park and the next day I wasn’t able to walk. It’s been an incredibly hard and painful journey and I’m just proud of myself for making it this far. I absolutely could NOT have done it without all the unconditional love and support of my family and friends.

Thank you guys so much for reading my story I hope y’all have a blessed day :)
