My Goal: 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
I am on the U.S National Ski Team for Freestyle Aerial Skiing. I ski straight into jumps at 57K that send me 30-40ft doing multiple flips and twists.
Back in 2012, I was paralyzed from the waist down four days after my 16th birthday. Although it was long, I recovered enough to tryout for the Aerials development team in Lake Placid. Once I made the development team, I had ups and downs throughout my season. I worked through a ruptured disk in my neck only to come back and podium a couple times and land in 8th place in my first world cup at Deer Valley. A year later I tore my ACL. After ACL surgery I worked harder and got stronger to come back to win the overall title for the Noram circuit. In the 2017/2018 season I placed sixth at the Deer Valley World Cup and earned the title of Rookie of the Year. Since, I have traveled around the world and placing myself 6th in the World and 2nd in the United States.
I love living my dream but unfortunately it isn't cheap.
I have to stay up to date on equipment.
Travel is one of the bigger expenses of my sport. I have to travel domestically and internationally. Which of course only makes representing our country more fun.
Although we have a state of the art training facility that provides food, gym equipment and sports medicine, living in Utah is expensive.
Overall, any contribution helps towards my dream at 2022 Winter Olympic games! It would allow an ease of mind on finances and more focus on training.
