Madison our Miracle

Hi family & friends: I am Madison’s Aunt and have started this page on behalf of my sister and brother in law, Kristen and Greg Anderson.

At 29 weeks pregnant, while going for a 3D ultrasound which was supposed to be a fun day, it was discovered that there was no amniotic fluid around Madison. After much testing, Madison was prenatally diagnosed with PKD also known as Polycystic Kidney Disease. Most of the doctors said she would more than likely not make it out of the delivery room, and if she did she may only survive for a few hours or a couple days. The odds of Madison surviving were against her. On November 4th, 2015, Madison proved them wrong. For this reason, to her family and friends she is known as “Madison our Miracle” or “M&M”.

There is no cure for PKD only treatments which means inevitably the kidneys will stop working requiring a transplant. Madison will unfortunately always suffer from kidney disease.

The road Madison has traveled has not been easy, but she is always happy and smiling despite everything she goes through. When she was born she stayed in the NICU for 36 days. Once she came home she had to fight to gain weight, which is still a struggle, take medicine throughout the day and night, endures countless doctor’s visits and hospital stays with endless needles. While her loving parents stand by her side every moment and do everything they can to keep her strong.

Unfortunately, Madison’s kidneys are at the point of failing where she now requires a transplant. This Spring, Madison will receive the gift of life. We are very happy to announce that her father will be her donor.

It is with sincere gratitude that we thank Greg for his selfless donation to his daughter; he will forever be our hero. Greg would do anything for Madison and helping to ensure that she has a healthier, happier life goes without question to him.

As her transplant date comes closer, I am personally hoping others will help support them. This journey thus far and pending surgery has presented an enormous amount of expenses. These expenses will only continue to grow once the surgery takes place, along with loss of time at work and any help will make this journey that much easier.

Through all of this, none of it could be done without the love and support of family and friends and even those who have never met Madison. We would like to thank you all for your continued prayers, thoughts, love and support. Any donation and a simple re-posting of this link would mean so much and help us show the world how strong and tough of a fighter Madison really is. Thank you again!
