Madis Story

My name is Sarah Novak. I am a mommy to a gorgeous little girl, Madilynn. Her 2nd Birthday was Jan 17, 2018 and we got ice cream and dinner. We spent the day just laughing and having fun. On January 19, 2018 both of our lives changed forever. That morning we went to royal farms to pull money out for the sitter and she picked out powdered donuts for breakfast, so of course she got them. I dropped her off, went to an appointment, then went to work; everything was fine like any other day. At 12:19pm her sitter called me and said there was an accident that I needed to come pick Madi up and take her to the hospital. So I asked what happened and all.. she was breathing, but completely unconscious, so I told her she needed to make sure she stayed breathing and call 9-1-1. I left work and arrived at the apartment to see my babygirl on a backboard. She was flown to Johns Hopkins where she had seizures and a stroke to the left side of her brain from having a brain bleed. She had diffuse bleeding all over her brain, which caused severe brain swelling. She was put in a medically induced coma and put on a ventilator.. On Monday Jan 22, 2018 she had surgery to removed a fraction of her left skull to allow the brain to swell. All the money will be used for my bills as I am not working and after I can't work either because with her not having her skull, she cannot be transported anywhere. So I must be home with her 24/7.
