Madeline Swanson Memorial Scholarship
Don protégé
My name is Paul Jefferson, I am the former theatre teacher at Rider High School in Wichita Falls, TX. Madeline Rhea Swanson passed away on May 11, 2020. I was her theatre teacher. Madeline was instrumental in helping to develop Rider High School Theatre into a state-recognized program. She was the first actress in school history to win an acting award at UIL One Act Play at the state contest in 2014 for her portrayal of Anne Frank in The Diary of Anne Frank. A scholarship fund has been set up as a memorial for her. The collected monies will be distributed over a number of years and will be given to a Rider Theatre senior. There will also be a perpetual plaque which will include the names of the recipient for each year. This student will be chosen by the theatre teacher at Rider, currently Ms. Tabitha Cahanin. These are difficult times for all of us. Many are struggling financially. Any gift will be appreciated. As a teacher, she was loved by me and so many others. Thank you and bless you. Please feel free to share this post.
