Maddy needs a miracle

Donation protected

My beautiful girl Maddy is fighting a battle that seems to be more complicated than we once expected.

Last 2 weeks she was brought to the vet because we assumed she had a UTI because she was having accidents in the house. She is prone to bladder stones and has undergone 3 surgeries to remove the stones her body keeps creating.

We were thrilled to find out there were no stones however a urine test came back with sugar in her blood. Her blood glucose level was over 400 when it shouldn’t go before 150
We went from being happy and relieved to frantically doing what we had to so her levels could drop

She took a turn for the worst. She stopped eating.Would nearly move and tried to drink laying down. We were given insulin and meds to entice her to eat but she wasn’t getting better.

At the emergency hospital we were told she had pancreatitis, and a severely enlarged liver on top of her sky high blood sugar.

After 3 days in the hospital it was recommended that she be transferred to a specialty hospital who could manage her better due to the complexity of her situation.

There we are told she also has fluid in her stomach  which they are aspirating with a NG tube.

She still won’t eat and will get getting food through her tube until she eats food willingly.

in the past two weeks, her vet bills have totaled to be just shy under $5k.  With the cost continuing to increase with every added day.

Maddy is the sweetest dog you will ever meet. When working in the Nursing Home I would bring her in with me for pet therapy. The residents lighted up with joy with the amount of love Maddy showed each of them.

Then when my nephew, Joey was born she became his guardian. She would watch him in his swing for hours. After his surgeries, she never left his side.

I always say she’s not a dog. She is a person in a dog suit.  The bond she has with Joey is one you only wish to see between a child and their dog.

She has touched so many lives and brought quality of life to each and every person she has ever come in contact with.

Maddy has a very long road ahead with complications being able to pop up at any moment.

I know none of you owe me or Maddy anything, but I am desperate to come up with the money needed to continue Maddy’s treatment.  Soon I will run out of money and I’m not sure what will happen when I do.

Please consider donating a few dollars for her continued care.

All money will directly to her bills.

Thank you. Please help me save Joey’s best friendand my baby girl.
