Here is a little a information about Mackenzie ..
Now Mackenzie Rhodes was a healthy normal teenage girl. She loved playing the flute and being top on her field hockey team. She loved to dress up beautifully and attend her high school dances. Mackenzie is so good with children , everyone wanted her to babysit she not only babysat she was very active getting the children out to do different things instead of them sitting in house on game system or cellphones. Unfortunately in 2013 mackenzie became very sick as to what doctors all thought was the flu. They put her on a antibiotic and it sat in her kidneys . They took all kinds of blood work and did other tests mackenzie red blood cells were at extreme low she rushed to Syracuse hospital where she was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease . They tried chemo therapy to try and shock her kidneys back into working put her on hemo dialysis, gave her plasma kidneys started working for about a year and then we were back to square one. Multiple times a week to Syracuse. Continued like this for years. In 2018 MacKenzie's lung started filling up with fluid she continually had it tapped and drained for over a year equaling out to over 70 times. She ended up with horrible infection in her lung . Since August 2019 mackenzie has been hospitalized came home for 3 weeks out of this whole time. The 23rd of December the infection in MacKenzie's lung became very active antibiotics were no longer working. Her heart had stopped, lung collapsed, and she became very septis and had to be put on a ventilator. January 8 she was finally well enough to take her off. Mackenzie now has a trache, a feeding tube that runs to her small intestine because her stomach quit working so she is tube fed for nutrition. At this time mackenzie is not eligible for a kidney transplant because her kidneys are affecting other organs. And treating everything they do for her like a foreign object so are afraid her body would do the same to a kidney! SHE'S OUR TROOPER! SHE HAS A LONG WAY TO RECOVERY BUT SHE IS HANGING IN THERE
Update.... :
Mackenzies kidney doctor came and had a discussion with her, her mother and I , he said that with her heart functioning only at 50 % , her stomach not being able to digest food, , her kidneys not functioning at all and now with her nourishment being fed directly Into her small intestine, they said that if she was ever to go into cardiac arrest, that the chances of her surviving is only in the single digits .... And that since everything thats going on with her kidneys, and heart , that she is no longer eligible for a kidney transplant...   We are trying to raise money to offest expenses of finding a place to live , that she can come home to to spend with her mom and family ... And would also like to take her somewhere that shes always wanted to go to.. As in letting her enjoy one  thing from her bucket list..  Her birthday is the 28th of this month.... She will be  turning 21.  If anyone has any questions  concerning this go fund me account.  Please by all means , send me a message and I will answer any questions you may have .....please help us help her.fv .. May God bless you all.  We love you Mackenzie Rhodes ...
