Mac Fam Hurricane Recovery

Hi Family and Friends,
This is the McCarthy family.  We never thought in a million years that a moment like this would come that we would have to ask for so much help from loved ones.  Our Family is experiencing a tremendous loss due to the devasting flooding that has happened in Southeast Texas.  This is an extemely hard message to write and I am filled with so many emotions and scenarios, but they all lead to needing help.  The neighborhood of Pinewood, where we grew up, in Southeast Texas, has been completely flooded with water so high, no one could ever imagine.  Even with the preparation time they had, there was no way of protecting their home, belongings and vehicles from the catastrophe that was coming.  Almost all of the neighbors, including our parents, had to be evacuated by boat, with nothing allowed but their pets, a small bag and the clothes they were wearing.  The water has wiped out almost everything else they own.  Many of the homeowners, as well as our parents, do not have flood insurance, as they are located in a 500yr flood plain and this kind of thing never happens, right!?  Well, it did, and it's not good.  The road to rebuilding their lives and home, as well as replacing all of their belongings, is going to be extremely long and very hard.  We simply do not have the monetary means necessary to provide all of the assistance that is needed.  You may not have considered making a donation, or maybe you did but you are not sure where or how it is going to help someone directly.  We ask that you consider contributing right here, to our family, knowing that every little bit will be going directly to provide the neccessities that they need to get through the coming weeks and to the efforts to rebuild our family home and our parents lives.
