GivingTuesday is an opportunity for people around the world to use their individual power of generosity to support their communities. On GivingTuesday – November 28, 2023 – the whole world comes together to give back in many different ways: through acts of kindness, gifts of voice, time, talent, or treasure.
So, on this GivingTuesday, Friends of Karansi organization invites you to join us in our efforts of collecting school fees for the Maasai children in need for 2024, refurbishes of their hostel and Pambazuka Naisinyai School.
Please donate and share this cause so these beautiful Maasai kids can get school/college fees, food and a nice hostel to stay in!! Your contribution means a lot!!
We have just launched Help The Maasai Children Stay in School so that Maasai kids can get school fees, enough food and a nice place to stay (A nice hostel)
SEXUAL VIOLENCE FOR THE MAASAI GIRLS
Maasai girls must face many obstacles to get an education, and most of those are related to the high level of poverty among the Maasai. The cost of education is prohibitive for most families, and the promise of a dowry is a powerful incentive for arranging a daughter’s marriage as soon as she “crosses the childhood bridge.” But cultural factors also contribute to preventing girls from getting an education.
FGM/C AS A CULTURAL PRACTICE IN THE MAASAI COMMUNITIES:
Some girls die from excessive bleeding, and many suffer serious long-term complications for the rest of their lives.” Within Maasai tradition, FMG/C is considered an important part of the culture and identity. This makes it difficult for families to decide not to have their daughters cut.
Typically, Maasai girls are circumcised between ages 11-13 and then soon married to a man chosen by their father in exchange for cattle. The consequences of FGM and early marriage on girls are grave. So we are educating the communities the consequences of early marriage and sexual violence for the girls.
YOUNG MAASAI BOYS
Young men and boys—are responsible for protecting the cattle from predators and herding them to water sources and pasture land. So they miss going to school.
As a Maasai Pastor, I have been struggling to make sure all the Maasai children have the right to attend schools until they reach their dreams of becoming doctors, nurses, teachers etc. These young Maasai run from their families once they hear about getting early marriage and boys from grazing. I have rescued some young Maasai girls and boys who are attending secondary schools and colleges. I cannot afford to pay for their schools by myself so I am inviting you my friend to join me and donate something to enable us to get their school fees. If you are in a position please chip in something to support these young girls and boys and if you are not in a position, just help us to get the word out so that your friends and families can join and donate something. Any amount of donation is highly appreciated.
We have more than 50 Maasai children who need school for 2024. Below is some brief info about some Maasai children who need school fees. Please join us and donate something to make their dream come true.

-Refurbishment
-Beds and mattresses
-Healthcare
-Nutritional food
Friends of Karansi Hostel
We have set a critical goal of $100,000, so could you join us and chip in any amount to ensure we can pay school fees, renovate the hostel and feed Maasai children? No dollar amount is too small.
-In times of crisis, we need to have each other’s backs.
-Together, we can ensure enough food, school fees and a nice hostel for the Maasai children.
If just one more person from your zip code chips in, we’ll hit our goal – and make a world of difference in this critical moment.
We may be separated physically — but you can still hugely touch someone’s life.
If you’re fortunate to have even a few bucks to spare, we humbly request you to step up. It would mean so much right now. Will you pitch in something, please?
We also request you share this cause on your social networks; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc.
We appreciate any support you can give!!
Stay healthy and stay safe!!
