Maan and Jyoth's Pan Am and Junior World Cup Tours

Donation protected
Hello all, we are Maan and Jyoth Sidhu, more commonly known as the Sidhu twins. Thank you so much for giving your time to read this - we appreciate it! Anyone who knows us can instinctively link us to field hockey. This sport is integral to the core of who we are and it’s something we aspire to be better at every single day of our lives. Our passion was originally ignited through our parents and elder brothers who are equally as passionate and infatuated with this sport. Through them, we aspire to become world-class field hockey players - a statement we take very seriously.

From the day we could first walk and hold our own, our father, who we believe passed down the ‘field hockey genes’, made us do tiring, boring and repetitive drills for hours. We’d question him on why he would be so hard on us - why he was so strict with our practice. But now, we realize the benefit of our discipline. All these past years of presumably futile drills have finally come to fruition, leading us to this moment. We have both been selected to play for the Junior Men's National Field Hockey team, a reality that we still find hard to fathom. We are going to be the first set of twins to ever compete and represent Canada at a junior national level. This means absolutely everything not only to us but to our loving and dedicated parents, for whom our gratitude is immeasurable. They sacrificed everything for us, supported us in every step, and have gotten us to where we are today. We never thought that the same twins playing mini hockey in the basement of our first house, would one day lead to representing our family, our country, and our Sikh community on such a high and prestigious platform. With immense blessings from Vaheguru, we are going to play in the 2023 Junior Pan American Championships in Saint Michael, Barbados, with promising hopes to qualify for the Junior World Cup held later this year in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

It feels surreal that the two of us who grew up together played together and shared almost everything with each other now have the opportunity to compete at an international level together. Although we would stop at absolutely nothing to make sure we participate in this once-in-a-lifetime event, certain circumstances are out of one’s control. In order for us to attend this event we must pay about $10,000 for both tours out of our own pockets in order to have this dream come true. The addition of fact that both of us are participating in this competition doubles and creates a hefty financial load on our humble family and us. So we sincerely request that you consider supporting and contributing to this dream of ours. Donating even the slightest amount is incredibly gratifying and would mean more to both of us than we could possibly put into words. We hope you support us so we can represent you. Regardless of your decision, we would like to thank you for your consideration.
