Ma Trieu Vy’s Journey back to Vietnam for funeral
With deep sadness I am in the position to inform of the tragic passing of my best friend Ma Trieu Vy on June 5th 2021 while we were up North for the weekend.
Anh N Ma is Ma Trieu Vy’s aunt, who stay in USA and tried to attend her funeral in Canada.
MaTrieu (Joyce) came to Canada in 2018 so she could build a successful life in Canada. She attended George brown college to receive a diploma in hotel management, she graduated with honours in 2020, but with COVID employment was scarce.
Joyce had a zest for life loved cooking and wanted nothing more then to open the “best” pho restaurant In Toronto. Cooking top notch meals for her roommates and I was the light at the end of the day for a very depressing year. She loved taking other people’s dogs for long walks along the shore and emerging her self with nature. She will be sadly missed by any one fortunate enough to cross paths with her.
I am now tasked with getting her home to her little brother, mother and father for memorial and burial. Joyce’s family has very little money in Vietnam and any donations will go to sending her back home to be honoured for eternity.
