Taylor Backer Scholarship Fund

Dr. Pat Backer, professor at San Jose State University in the Aviation and Technology Department, passed away unexpectedly on September 24, 2021. Her husband, Victor, and daughter, Taylor, are shocked by the loss and we want to support them both in the short and long term.

Pat was so proud of Taylor, often bringing her to SJSU’s campus throughout her childhood. Taylor was a fixture at many campus meetings and events alongside her mom. Taylor was also very active in sports and activities, including Girl Scouts, basketball, and softball. Pat was right there with her, supporting her in any way she could. Taylor just began college as a freshman at Scripps College, studying Environmental Engineering/Environmental Health. Pat couldn't have been prouder when Taylor was accepted to Scripps and we know that she would want to do everything possible for Taylor to continue her studies there.

In honor of Pat and her lifelong dedication to higher education, we have set up a scholarship fund to help with Taylor’s ongoing college expenses. We hope you will honor Pat and contribute to this scholarship fund for Taylor.
