DeeAnn's Cardiac Surgery Fund
My name is DeeAnn and I am a single mom to Peyton (age 10) and a 6th grade Special Education teacher in Keller, Texas. At age 19, I started having problems with my heart racing. Since it only happened a few times a year, my doctor did not advise treatment at that time. In November 2014, this started occurring twice a month, and is now happening once a week. After an emergency room visit in early December 2014, the doctors had to stop/reset my heart, and diagnosed me with SVT (supraventricular tachycardia). I cannot afford to visit the ER weekly, and have therefore been living with this problem for the past two months...continuing to teach and try to live my life, while my heart is racing over 180 beats per minute, sometimes for hours at a time. I've decided that I need to resolve this issue for both myself, my son, and also for my students who are counting on me to be 100% healthy. I have therefore scheduled a surgical procedure called "cardiac ablation" for Monday, February 16, 2015. My surgeon, Dr. Ho, will examine and perform testing on my heart, determine which part is damaged, and destroy the heart tissue that is causing the SVT. I just found out yesterday that my out-of-pocket portion, after my insurance pays, will be over 11K. I am asking my friends and family to pray about this, that the surgery goes smoothly, and that there are no long-term complications. I would also respectfully ask that you pray about and consider if you are able to help out financially with any portion of the out-of-pocket medical expenses.
