Hi everyone! I am so incredibly excited to share my news with you!
In October 2015 I will be starting a new and exciting adventure with God by my side every step of the way! I have been accepted into Youth With A Mission (YWAM) at the Newcastle, Australia location.
Youth With A Mission is a program that includes two phases.
The first is a Discipleship Training School where you learn about the the gospel and to get to know God. The specific YWAM DTS I have chosen is Compassion. The Compassion DTS includes the emphasis of value of human life through the eyes of the Creator, bringing the promise of hope into a broken world, and addressing issues of poverty and injustice. For this portion, I will be Australia challenging myself and falling into a deeper love with Christ. During this time I will be hearing from guest speakers, attending bible studies, and devoting all of my time into the word of God.
The second phase is an outreach. During this portion I will get the opportunity to share God with the world. I will put everything that I have learned over my DTS into action. Some outreach locations in the past include: Thailand, New Zealand, Mexico, Japan, etc.
In total the program is about 6 months long.
I have chosen to take a year off from school to chase what I believe is a meaningful life. Recently I have realized that everyone has been given a gift from God. Some may be sports or music or art or intelligence.... mine is the ability to love. I want to use this experience to further my relationship with Christ, help others, grow as a young woman of faith, and to put the gift that God has given me into action. The possibilities of this program are endless. I have always felt called to do great things. And along with that, I have felt called to travel and to do mission work. And I cannot wait to see how God uses me to change this world!
The total cost of this program will be 10,000$ and will be used for my DTS, outreach, plane tickets, visa, etc. I would greatly appreciate as much prayer as I can get. This will be one of the hardest yet most rewarding experiences of my life. And though I know raising all of this money will be tough, I know that God is bigger and that he provides. If you have any questions, please let me know! I love you all so much. Thank you for supporting me in this new chapter of my life.
