Jack's treatment
Donation protected
My dad, Jack, was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer, in November of 2019. He spent 7 months having weekly chemo treatments. The next step in treatment is a stem cell transplant. He has already started the process, it takes a full month of just prep. He will be admitted to the hospital on July 6th. He will stay there for 2 to 3 weeks in the hospital, with 3 to 4 weeks of recovery with very strict guide lines. He has to stay with 6 miles of the hospital and he cannot be around animals or children. There are a few different options that where laid out for him and my mother, as she will be allowed to stay with him for the recovery period since she is his caregiver. No matter where they end up staying there will be out of pocket costs which could be about $3000. Since they are both retired pay for that is not very easy.
