Help Billy Walk Again

Donation protected
We are trying to raise money for Billy to go to his amputee appointments and eventually get a prosthetic leg.

Billy has always been an active, family loving man. He played the drums, ran miles a day, loved his job and rode a Harley. About 2 months ago while riding home from work on his motorcycle he got T-boned by a car on the highway. Flying off his bike into a corn maze, he broke his left leg, broke his neck, and shattered his entire right leg including his hip.

When help arrived he was barely alive, was going to be rushed to a hospital, but on the way flatlined. Being stabilized at a local hospital he then had to be life lined to Indianapolis where he’d then under go multiple surgeries trying to salvage his hip and removing his leg.

This first week or so was the roughest week his family has ever been through. But it’s gotten a lot better since then. He’s had so many visitors, loving family members and people of the community who already support him. He’s had some hard hard days but overall has been very positive throughout this whole journey. We’ve tried to adjust to this new normal as much as possible, and that’s exactly what it is. Our new normal.

That being said, down the road now from when he was barely alive, stuck in a hospital for a couple of weeks; to being able to be at home comfortably and learning to navigate the house in a wheel chair, we are very lucky the way things turned out. We are still positive and grateful for all the support, we just need a little more.

This week we have learned that Billy has been let go from his job. A job that he loved and that had great insurance, a job he was getting disability from. Without that job anymore, we have no way of getting him appointments to get fitted for a prosthetic, any other medical appointments needed regarding his reconstructed hip, let alone getting him a new leg.

As we set this goal to what seems to be a high number, it is an ever growing number, for however long we need medical appointments for different components of his recovery. For possibly what could be an entire hip replacement. This number may not be enough, or it may be more than enough. We are desperately asking for help to allow Billy to walk normally again, and we do want to thank everyone who supports us. If you can give as little as a dollar, you are greatly appreciated, if you can not donate, we ask you to pray for Billy, for him to continue to recover faster and faster. Thank You.
