Heather Holt Medical Fund

Please help support Coach Heather a Navy War Veteran from Operation Iraqi Freedom.  She was a Petty Officer as an aircraft mechanic on the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln.  Heather is currently head coach of my daughter's Titan's 12U Travel Softball Team and was riding on an ATV during the recent snow and ice.   The driver hit an icy patch in the neighbhorhood Heather lives in.  The ATV flipped causing serious injuries to coach Heather and injuries to the driver. At the time of the accident, she had 3 broken ribs, fractured skull, and a blood clot with heavy bleeding on the brain. She had major surgery to remove the clot on her brain and metal plate placed to repair the damage to her skull. In addition, she had a tube installed to drain the blood and pressure off of her brain. After recovery in ICU for several days, she was released to recover at home.   The physican said she was only mintues from not surving the accident.

Heather has a wonderful family with 4 kids and her spouse. Her spouse recently lost a job when the company closed and the family has no insurance coverage. Unfortunately, ATV's are not required to have insurance by GA law so this family will have to pay substantial medical bills and loss of work/income from this serious injury. She is now dealing with a brain injury and is expected to take months before she can return to a normal life and work schedule. Heather is scheduled for cognitive therapy as it takes significant amount of time for her to process her thoughts and speech.
