Shelley's Medical Fund

Hi Everyone, The picture of Shelley Mayo speaks volumes of her attitude, even while going thru intense medical treatments.  She was diagnosed in 2009 with Ulcerative Colitis and managed it for 2 years with meds.  Since 2012 she was hospitalized 6 times.  The first 4 were all for a week of IV steriod treatments along with new therapies.  When EVERY drug failed she was hospitalized for 43 days an had to under go emergency surgery to remove her colon.  As if that wasn't enough she developed a life threatening infection and was in  the ICU for 2 weeks.  The latest hospital stay she had to travel to the Cleveland Clinic in Ft. Lauderdale  and have a J Pouch reconstructive surgery and was in hospital 5 days.  She does have health insurance thru her current employer, who has been very supportive and generous thru this past year; however, the past and current bills are extremely difficult to keep up with.  Our girl, has one more major surgery in a few weeks and then will be on the road to recovery.  Thank you ALL for your support and generosity.  If you would like to learn more about Shelley's condition and what she is enduring daily please read below.
