On April 27, at around 4:40am, Ridwan Shirwa, while driving back home from work, was involved in a minor collision on Interstate 85 involving one other vehicle. According to the police news report, the incident caused both vehicles to be in the right lane of vehicular travel. As any Good Samaritan would do, Shirwa got out of his vehicle to inspect what happened, and as a result, paid the ultimate price with his life after being struck by a passing motorist.
Shirwa left behind a sick wife who is unable to work and two sons who are trying to finish college while working at the same time. He has worked hard, mostly two jobs, to pay all of the bills and to support his entire family. His one dream was to see the day his two sons would graduate college. He was also due to visit his 85 year-old mom, who lives in Ethiopia, whom he has not visited in a very long time.
The Ridwan Shirwa family needs our immediate help to cover mortgage payments, utilities, and insurance(s), among many other bills. We have set an initial goal of paying off the remaining mortgage balance on the family’s home to help the family until the kids can stand on their own.
