Jon and Dawn's Journey

In August of 2014 Jon was diagnosed with CML (chronic myeloid leukemia). At the time of diagnosis the doctors stated that Jon was in the early phases of CML and that it was treatable with oral therapy.
In January Jon began having trouble with his platelet counts, as a result he had to have 3 bone marrow biopsies and 3 transfusions.
In February Jon's struggles have continued. As of today he is waiting for a bone marrow transplant. His family members are being tested to see if they are matches and able to donate to him. Anyone interested in becoming a donor can visit www.bethematch.org. Anyone can be swabbed to become a donor, however doing so at this time will be in honor of Jon, not to be a donor specifically for Jon.
Jon will need to have chemo prior to receiving his transplant. Once he receives the transplant he will be isolated for 3 months and have to follow a special diet.
This wonderful family has faced every single challenge with courage and hope. Not one time have they said anything negative or asked "why us?" With the upcoming events not having a solid timeline it is difficult to predict what Jon and Dawn will need.  At this time we know Jon will be off work for an extended period of time. Dawn will also miss work to be by Jon's side.
