Help for the Patton Family

Family and friends of the Patton Family,
Just days after Lindsey and Evan's engagement, on December 22, 2014 Lindsey's father, Russell collapsed and was rushed to the ICU. He was put on a respirator and they were unsure if he was going to make it. After the strong efforts of his medical team and the fight he put in he was finally in stable condition.
However, every day since then has been a guessing game. He'll have one good day followed by 3 days of setbacks. Since then, he was on a venatalor and unconscious for 20+ days. He had tracheotomy surgery and countless scans.
Most recently they found internal bleeding and they are trying to find the source, which required a surgery that took place today - February 9th - the surgery did not go quite as planned and his heart had stopped. Thankfully they were able to revive him and he is now stable.
In addition to all the difficulties because of his collapse, he was also diagnosed with kidney cancer.
We started this GoFundMe because after over 50 days in the ICU and a long journey of long-term care ahead for Russell, the burden of the medical bills can be trying for a family who just wants their dad to be healthy! It is never easy to ask for help, so that is why we are going to ask for them. We are hoping to gain some financial support from family and friends of The Pattons so they are able to focus on helping Russell get back to where he is strong and healthy!
