Please Help MSG and Mrs Stocking!

My parents were recently involved in a scary car accident. Fortunately they are ok, but their van was totaled. The van was specialized to meet the needs of my mother who is fully disabled due to multiple sclerosis. The insurance company only covered 1/3 of the price of the van, and didn't cover any of the specialized equipment used to get my mother in and out of the van.
My parents are the most kind, generous people I know. My father devoted his life to the Army, signing up at age 18 and later served in Desert Storm. After retiring he worked as a teacher until my mom's health issues finally ended his career. My mother was also in the army, and after her commitment she worked as a social worker until the multiple sclerosis ended her career.
My father is her primary caretaker. He himself was diagnosed with aplastic anemia and cancer, and with his army trained strength, fought through both illnesses to come back and take care of my mother.
Despite their setbacks they have maintained positive attitudes, never asking for assistance, and even on limited incomes have given back to their communities adopting families during times of holidays and giving to others in need. Recently they have added my brother and his family into their home to help him get through school and get back on his feet.
But now, they need your help. After car insurance, tricare (insurance provided for army service) and medicare, they aren't able to get any coverage for replacing the specialized medical equipment needed for their new vehicle. Their insurance also doesn't help with any kind of home nursing assistance, so my dad is responsible for getting my mom to all of her doctor appointments. They live in upstate NY where there is not public transit, and mobile mobility transport service is only covered if you have state medicaid, which they don't. They absolutely need this equipment for their van, and after 25 years of service to this country, I don't think they should have to still be struggling this hard to survive.
