Hurricane Michael was the worst storm to hit the Florida Panhandle in modern history.
My name is Julien Recoussine. We live in the Northshore neighborhood of Lynn Haven. Our family is fortunate that our house sustained only minor damage. Many of my close neighbors and friends were not so lucky. Their houses will need major repair or rebuilding. It may take months for power to be restored, and even when it comes back, these houses will not be livable without major work. These are my friends. They are salt of the earth people. In the time I've known them they've rallied around each other during hard times. The loss of family members, someone going through cancer, you name it. They've been there for me and each other through thick and thin and I am not going to let them down.
In the short term, supplies are needed. Plywood to board up windows and roofs, gasoline to run chainsaws (almost every tree is down), water, basic food supplies, so on. Houses will be fixed or rebuilt, and most of them have insurance, but the next few months are going to be hard on them.
My family was lucky. Our house was mostly spared, but my friends need help in the short term.
100% of any money raised on this Gofundme account will go to the purchase of supplies the renting of transportation to move those supplies into the area. This is about bridging the short term gap until insurance and our hard work gets the houses rebuilt.
