Lynda Wszalek's (Crowell's) Alzheimer's Care

Donation protected

An estimated 5.7 percent of American's are living with Alzheimer's Disease. In October 2017, at the age of 57, our mother, and beloved wife Lynda Wszalek (Crowell) became one of them.

It started simply with folders being misplaced at work and confusion about where she was heading when driving. Today her short term memory is almost non-existent, she has a very difficult time understanding and communicating, and is no longer able to care for herself without 24-hour supervision.

As her Alzheimer's has worsened, her husband, Robert, has become her full-time caretaker assisting her with in-home care and prescribed medications. They are currently able to get by on her Social Security and disability payments, along with whatever work Robert - a self-employed 4th Generation Carpenter- is able to take on when not taking care of her, however, the cost of care is astronomical and a burden we are not prepared for or able to bear.

Caring for someone with Alzheimer's is a very stressful and emotional task. We have tried our best to plan for the future but are not financially ready to provide her with the level of care she needs. Our mother is one of the most selfless and loving people you could ever have the pleasure of knowing and appreciating. She would -and has- done anything and everything for those she cares about and we want to be able to do that for her.

The money raised by this fundraiser will be put towards her long-term care. She doesn't always know who we are but knows she loves us and that she is safe. As her condition and symptoms continue to advance, our foremost concern is ensuring she continues to be in a safe, and secure environment where she can receive the treatment, care and love she so deserves.

On behalf of my brother Josh, her husband Robert, and my mother Lynda...we thank you in advance for helping us.
